6 Steps
To Starting an Online Business

Internet marketing
is NOT that complicated. It’s easy if you just keep it SIMPLE.
Here’s a six
step overview of the ENTIRE process of internet marketing:
1.
Choose a Niche
The key to finding
a niche is to research what’s already being sold and what people
are already buying.
Go to Clickbank.com/marketplace
and search the various niche categories and sort by “gravity”.
This will tell you the products that are getting the most sales.
Go to pulse.ebay.com
and look through the most searched products. This will give you a quick
glance as to what people are looking to buy. Also see their “completed
items” category.
Go to Amazon and search
their “best sellers” list in the books category.
You can also go to
Magazines.com and look through their listings. If “demand”
is high enough (in any niche) to support a magazine, then it’s an
indicator that it has high profitability.
Another trick is just
to go to Dummies.com and search through the topics they’ve written
“For Dummies” books on.
2.
Pick a Product
When you have picked
a specific market, now it is time to select a product. Just choose one
for now.
Go back to Clickbank.com/marketplace
and search products with the highest gravity in any niche to instantly
see what people are already buying. This will show you what’s “in
demand” ASAP.
3.
Build an Autoresponder Series
You’re going
to research the product’s benefits and create an email series that
pre-sells the product. You can get this info from the product web page
and/or their affiliate promotional material.
For example, if you’re
selling golf clubs, you can write an email series with some useful tips
and information about “how to choose the right golf club for you”.
Then tell your subscriber
how and where to purchase golf clubs or a product on “how to improve
their golf swing” and direct them through your affiliate link.
Ideally, you should
come up with a minimum of 5 emails that pre-sell the product. You should
play up the benefits, use testimonials, reviews, come up with cool bonuses
to offer, and more to come up with your follow up series.
You can get MOST of
this info from the product sales page itself. You don’t actually
want to try and sell the product in your emails however. That’s
what the sales page is for. You can play up the benefits, but the main
purpose of your emails is to get them to click through to the sales page
or whatever money page you link to.
If you’re having
trouble coming up with content for your emails, search article directories
for your primary keyword and see what’s already been written on
the topic. Read a bunch of articles and write what you’ve learned
in your own words.
4.
Build a Lead Capture page
Create an email capture
“squeeze” page offering valuable info in exchange for their
name/email.
You can offer a great
tip, a PDF report, video, etc… something valuable that draws them
into your database and your follow-up series. I’ll go into more
detail about how to put a valuable free offer together in an upcoming
email
Your Squeeze Page
should contain these 3 things:
A. A powerful, attention
grabbing Headline explaining the biggest benefit that the visitor will
take away if they get their hands
on the information you’re offering.
B. Call To Action.
You need to tell the visitor EXACTLY what you want them to do next. For
example, a common call to action would be, “Just enter your first
name and email below and we’ll send you the special report right
away”)
C. Email Capture Form
provided by your autoresponder
You can also add a
few bullet point statements and/or a “glamour shot” graphic
(ecover/box) image that represents the format that the content will be
delivered.
5.
Get Traffic!
Once you have these
things set up, you’re ready to turn on the “machine”
that works for you on auto-pilot 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
All you need is traffic
to get people into your sales funnel.
There are TONS of
ways to drive targeted traffic to your offer.
You can use Pay Per
Click advertising, video marketing, social marketing like Facebook and
Twitter, advertising on forums, ad swaps, purchasing solo ads, classified
ads, write and distribute articles on the web, viral reports, and the
list goes on and on.
You can also create
a blog targeted around your primary keyword and add content frequently
to attract natural search engine traffic.
Just be sure to add
your email capture form to your blog
6.
Find Related Products
Now that
you have a targeted list of subscribers who have raised their hand to
tell you that they’re very interested in a specific topic, offer
them related products.
You now have
built-in traffic at the push of a button.
If you treat
your list well, and offer a good balance of useful info and offers, they’ll
treat you well too by purchasing more and more products based on your
trusted recommendations.
The
just repeat the process
That’s it. 6
simple steps to exploding your sales in any niche.
I’ll break down
each step even more as we go along –don’t worry, it can be
completely overwhelming, but if you take it piece by piece, it’s
not really that hard.
You know
the old expression, “How do you eat an elephant?
One bite
at a time”
